2020 year refection

 Hello fellow viewers! 

Today I will be doing a end of year reflection! I will be talking about what happened on my first day and the events! 2020 was the best year and I realised that I can do things just if we try :) 

First day/term 1 & 2 - What happened on the first day was not what I expected. I met this one girl and she was really nice she talked to me and I realised that she wasn't bad. we started talking and on the actual first day I let her sit with me and it was fun!

Friends - me and Shontai were at the field when we became friends with Jhrnylle and Rheanne I heard them dancing to a song called What Is Love by twice because I knew the song and then we became friends with them. Then I got introduced to Lhysette and Jaren during art it was kinda awkward with them but then our friendship became stronger. We met Linny and Lucy because Lhysette and Jaren were in the same class as them. we met Eunize because Jaren knew her. I already met Liyah because we met three years ago. 

Athletics - Athletics was the best! I thought it would've been really scary because I hated sports and didn't like to run around and do sports like things, but then I realised that it wasn't bad and I got to hang out with my friends and have a little laugh.

Lock down - I absolutely hated it because all my maths work was gone. I didn't get to talk to my friends and the help I got was good but I didn't understand 

Winter sports - we had to choose a winter sport and netball was the only game I knew how to play (kinda) it was really scary at first because I was the only girl there not knowing what to do, my first game was really bad and I hated, my last game on netball was the best! we won and I enjoyed it because some of my friends were in the same team as me. 

Business enterprise - when me and my group had to choose what product we wanted to make we decided to make not only one product but three: slime, bracelets, and scrunchies. when we were selling our products it was really boring because everyone bought our slime but not our bracelets and scrunchies. when the hornby primary students came that's when we almost sold out, only our bracelets were left after 10 minutes (i think) we finally sold out. 

Summer sports - I picked volleyball because I knew a little bit about it and I watched an anime about volleyball, I hated it at first but then I started to enjoy it. I was starting to know how to jump block

We researched, watched videos, and read articles of the Christchurch Earthquakes, I think I was there during that time but i'm not sure. There was a few questions but I put a lot of work and words into it so I hope you enjoy!

I had to do some research on this one but it payed out!

Magaret Mahy

 Hello guys! 

today I will be showing you guys the work I did from EOTC slides, I picked the Margaret Mahy activity and it was really fun I researched some amazing things about her including the playground as well.

One of her most famous books was called A Lion In The Meadow. It was sold in 1969 and won the 1975

Esther award.

Well what is she famous for?

She wrote more than 100 picture books, 40 novels and 20 collections of short stories. two of her teen stories were called: The Catalogue Of The Universe and The Haunting.

🍒1: six people stay at The Mars Desert Research Station for 2 weeks and they learn what it might be like to live in Mars. They studied subjects like biology and geology. They ate dried foods and communicated with the world by radio. Lived in a house called a hab - its a 2 story house with bedrooms and living areas and a laboratory. 

🍒2: She found it difficult because there was her and five people in a small hab and nothing else. She said it was like a job but you were there all day and night and it was a unfamiliar place scary. 

🍒3: Its important for people to practice before they go to that planet because they can learn how actually live there and not die or have any accidents there.

Comment: I really liked making the nachos only because we got an opportunity to do things ourselves, not just adults making our food. we get a chance to do things independently so that we can learn how to cook in the future. That's why I love food tech so much!

Navigation in space

Hello guys!! today I'm gonna show you guys how my class will walk in a straight line with a bucket on their head.

Experiment: We will have to walk to the prize with a bucket, cotton ball on our ears and nose. There will be a person behind you to see if your gonna walk into something or someone.

What is the aim?: The aim is supposed to walk straight to the prize

Q1: What are the 5 senses?

A: Hearing, Smell, Taste, Touch, Sight and gut feeling

Q2: how do people get lost in the jungle?

sometimes people get lost because they aren't familiar with their surroundings and they probably have don't have a proper guide. or end up walking/driving in a circle.  

Q3: Do you have anything special about your legs?

A: They are not the same size 

Hypothesise: I will might end up walking in a circle because sometimes my body tilts sideways. 

Instructions:

1. put the cotton balls in your ears and nose 

2. put the blindfold on 

3. the safety person can put the bucket over your head 

4. Make sure your safety partner spins you 3 times but make sure the safety partner makes the third spin face towards the prize. 

5. begin to walk in a straight line 

6. write down what happened and how you did  

Equipment: 

• Bucket
• Cotton balls 
• Blindfold 
• Safety partner  

Results (edit): I didn't have enough time to do the experiment but I did put the bucket and blindfold and started walking for a couple of seconds, It felt like I was gonna trip or bump into something or someone so I used my arms and spread them so I could feel someone/something was beside me.

Mars Perseverance Mission challenge

Hello and today I will be talking about the perseverance mission to mars, I hope you enjoy it :) 

What Rocket Did The Perseverance Use to Get Into Space? 

An Atlas V Rocket. They sent it to Mars at 7:50am 30th of july 2020 it blasted off from the Kennedy Space center. It cost about 2.4 Billion dollars and its speed is 11,024 mi/h. 

The 2 vehicles that were being taken to Mars

The two vehicles that are being taken to mars were The Perseverance Rover and the Mars Helicopter. The Mars Helicopter is a Robotic Helicopter. 

 What are they looking for?

They are looking for the Jezero Crater a acient crater lake sighting obviously on Mars. The coordinates are 18.38°N 77.58°E in the Syrtis major quadrangle and was once flooded by water. So what I'm saying is that they're looking for water on Mars. 

How are they planning to make the vehicles land without being damaged?

They sent a parachute to space and tested if it worked. They will use a parachute on the vehicles simply to make them land safetly. Like a little rocket ship. This will increase the damage held to the vehicle so it won't break and they will get their data.

Types of communication in space (Hur3)

 Introduction 

Hello again guys today i’ll be showing you guys some types of communication.

Telephone/Mobile 

How does an average Mobile phone communicate with other phones? Well I'm here to tell you about it! Telephones were used to communicate with other people back in the day, the sound waves of a person speaking into a transmitter of a phone is converted into electrical signals, these signals are moved over into communication channels and then they are reconverted into sound waves for the other person to hear

Now I'll be telling you about mobile phones. They use radio waves to communicate. Now these radio waves transport digital voice or data like the speed of light. The radio waves absorb the reflected objects before they reach a cell tower.

Television 

The TV transmitter sends a signal to the TV receiver ( the TV ) it captures the signal and turns it back to a picture and a sound, kind of like an electronic flick book.

Internet 

Computers connect with each other with the internet. But you might wonder how things get sent to the internet so i'm here to tell you! The data from all computers are transmitted into bits of light and electricity.

Gold Mining And Chinese Miners

Today I'll be showing you guys 4 facts about Chinese Miners during the gold rush in NZ, and 4 things I've learnt about gold mining.

1. The Chinese people had very unique mining methods.

2. After they've finished mining there was very little gold left.

3. People were judging them only because they wore different clothes and they're appearance.

4. They prefer used mines because they know there was gold found there.

Gold mining 

1. Gold is admired very much because of its looks and colour.

2. Miners dig only underground because it can take a year or more.

3. When its found they use a crusher to separate the gold.

4. It's very hard to find gold because of rain and the mud.

2 facts about NZ gold mining 

1. The Otago government offered 1000 dollars to the first person who discovered it

2. A tasmainan person claimed the money.

Gold Mining and Discrimination

 Kamusta!! Today i'll be telling you guys what I know about gold mining and what Discrimination means.

all I know about gold mining is that people would mine for gold. Pretty simple right? But I also know 3 ways of how to get gold and the first way is people would spend hours and hours digging and making pathways to find gold like the picture up above and they would look for any gold or anything that was made out of gold.

The 2nd way isn't really mining for gold but you can still find gold all you need to do is have a metal pan and go to your nearest lake or any lake that you think has interesting stuff in it. then you would have to sit and dip your pan in the lake and shake it around. once you have did that you would have to take out your pan and see if you've found any gold. 

the 3rd way is you would have to find a gold mine cave and mine it yourself its not that easy because you would have to mine through the cave yourself or with some partners until you've found at least some gold.  

now i'll be telling you about discrimination. the meaning of it is you're judging someone because of their culture, race, clothing, sex and age for example she said "look at her with her small eyes"

Hello guys today i'll be talking about what I did in the holidays!

( It took a really long time to remember the stuff ) 

 

 1. I helped clean and changed my bed covers, pillow and blankets 

2. I drew some outfits to match the story i'm making - Bubble tea 

3. I cooked dinner and breakfast and tested some new dishes 

4. I played on my brothers ps4 and played GTA5, COD, L.A noire, fortnite etc.

5. did some chores 

6. Went to bible study 

7. friends came over and we played Roblox 

8. My family and I planned a trip to the glaciers for the next holiday 

9. watched the new Mulan movie with family 

10. chilled at home 

11. friends came over for dinner 

12. made some smoothies 

13. tried some tik tok hacks 

14. wrote some lyrics for a song i'm making

Business And Enterprise ( Market Day )

 Business & Enterprise 

Hello again guys! 

Today i'll be talking about our Business and Enterprise day, and what we did there.

Lhysette was the CEO, Jaren was the Finance manager, Jhrnylle was the Marketing manager and I was the production manger.

Jaren managed the financial expenses and our profits and losses, I checked if every product wasn't broken or if they were perfect, Jhrnylle helped selling all the stuff, promoted our products and made the poster, and Lhysette checked if we were doing our job and she sent emails. 

We thought of what our product could be and what it could do, making a company is really hard because it will be hard thinking of a product to sell. You would have to think about what it could be used for and what it can do so we thought of making three products: Slime, Scrunchies and Bracelets. 

The rest of the team focused on the slime because I wasn't there, but after that Jaren and Jhrnylle worked on the scrunchies and Me and Lhysette worked on the bracelets. For the bracelets we used three colours of wool blue, yellow and white and we braided them together. For the scrunchies we used the fabric from sewing class and we hand stitched them together.

When we were ready to sell our products we carried our table to a spot beside other stands. All of them looked amazing and it felt like we were not gonna sell anything because of our competition. When people got to buy and sell their products two people had to be at our stand and the other two could roam around and look or buy at the other stands and then we would swap.

Our slime sold out but not that many people liked our scrunchies and bracelets but luckily we sold all of our products. 

The things that I bought during B & E were some candy, iced tea and a gift bag! The things that we sold out the most was the slime

Our Market day Sales were $40.00 

Our expenses were $18.00

Our profit was $22.00

Our total investment was $18.00

My religion is Christian and the things I do to stay christian are praying, going to church, meditating and praise God and Jesus.

Te Taha Hinengaro (Mental & Emotional)

To keep my anger or sadness away I write down my feelings, I write a story, I write a song, make music, start screaming in a pillow, or destroy my bedroom.

Te Taha Whanau (Family & social) 

To keep a relationship with my friends and family I have a game night, at school I hang out with my friends, I give my friends and family gifts on their birthday or a special event. 

Whenau (Land & roots) 

To keep in touch with my culture and family in Philippines I call them with my family, My parents cook loads of food from our culture, we have some holidays back to Philippines to see our family 

Te Taha Tinana (Physical)

To stay fit I Jog, walk, Run, and use some exercise techniques.

A: every 25 months a group of martians can go to mars, to explore what is on mars.

A: Mars is known for being the Red planet because of its colour and its amount of iron oxide and another feature of Mars is the Olympus Mons ( the largest Volcano in the universe )

3. What is one possible solution from the story about oxygen on Mars?

A: a machine called MOXIE separates carbon dioxide into carbon monoxide and oxygen. NASA intends to send a person to mars in 2020 to see a permanent settlement in Mars.

4. If it doesn’t rain on Mars, where does the water come from?

A: some water is found in the polar ice caps but they are covered in a thick layer of carbon dioxide

5. How will people get food on Mars? What is a possible solution?

A: if people brought their own food to mars it would last about for about 26 months until the next supply rocket arrives. but if you brought not a a lot of food to mars you would have to eat small amounts of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
